Particularly interesting from a nutritional point of view are vitamin K1 (or phylloquinone, of plant origin) and vitamin K2 (or menaquinone, of bacterial origin, synthesized by the intestinal flora). Vitamin K (Koagulation vitamin) plays a key role in the correct coagulation process, since on the one hand it controls the hepatic synthesis of different coagulation factors (II or prothrombin, VII or proconvertin, IX or Christmas factor, X or Stuart factor), and on the other hand it acts on plasma proteins C, M, S, Z, also involved in coagulation.
