Large, heavy, high-quality chain pendant "Thor's hammer" made of tin. The hammer is decorated with a raven's head. The front and back are also decorated with an elaborate knot pattern. Dimensions: approx. 41 mm high x approx. 30 mm wide inner diameter of the eyelet: approx. 4.5 mm weight: approx. 28 g The pendant is delivered including a black cotton band. Meaning of the symbols: The Thor's hammer is also known as Thor's hammer, Mjölnir or Mjollnir. According to Norse mythology, Mjölnir was the magical weapon of the thunder god Thor. Hurled against its enemies, the hammer never missed its target and always returned to its owner's hands. It stands as a symbol of strength and energy. This special model is the interpretation of a Viking Age find from the southern Swedish province of Skåne and is therefore also referred to as the Skåne hammer. The raven motif is very popular on Thor's hammers, because according to mythology, the father of the gods Odin had two ravens, Hugin and Munin. He sent them out daily on reconnaissance so that they could tell him everything that was going on on earth. The raven was therefore considered a symbol of knowledge. He was also known as the Beast of the Battlefield.
