Pendant 137 Ravens - Bronze

Artfully crafted bronze raven pendant. The two birds are encircled by a ring engraved with the names "Hugin" and "Munin" in runic script. The pendant is partially blackened on the front. For men and women. Dimensions: approx. 28 mm diameter; inner diameter of the eyelet: approx. 5.5 mm; weight: approx. 6.1 g. The pendant comes with a black cotton cord. Background: According to Norse mythology, the god Odin had two ravens, Hugin and Munin. He sent them out daily to explore and report back to him everything that was happening on Earth. The raven was therefore considered a symbol of knowledge. He was also known as the beast of the battlefield. Runes were used by the Germanic peoples from the 2nd to the 14th centuries, primarily for inscriptions on stone. Most of the surviving runic inscriptions come from Viking Age Scandinavia.
