Press the button on the bottom of the device to turn on the infrared LED 2. Press gently on the skin with your hands and slowly move the device from one side to the other. Veins will appear as shadows or dark lines. (Note: The device must be in contact with the skin when looking for veins. Removing the light from the skin will not show anything.) 3. Once veins are found (dark shadows/lines), relocate the infrared light around this area to get the best visual acuity. If the vein is closer to the surface, the light source may need to be moved further away as it could be too bright and obscure the vein.
