Planted in the open, the frost-resistant Lover’s Tree can grow between two and six meters high and can be easily used as a solitary plant.. Natural Place: The Lover’s Tree has its natural habitat in the Middle East and the South of Europe, where the aromatic blossoms, due to its sweet-sour taste, are all that much be used to decorate the food. Cultivation: Seed propagation indoors is possible throughout the year. To increase the germinability, you should keep the seeds in the regular refrigerator for about a week and then place them in warm water overnight for priming. Plant the seeds about 1 cm deep in moist potting compost and cover the seed container with clear film to prevent the earth from drying out. Don’t forget to make some holes in the clear film and take it every second or third day completely off for about 2 hours. That way you avoid mold formation on your potting compost. Place the seed container somewhere bright and warm with a temperature between 20°C and 25° Celsius and keep the earth moist but not wet. The first seedlings will come up after three to four weeks. Place: The Lover’s Tree likes warm, sunny and wind-protected places. Care: Water your tub plant regularly between April and October and give fertilizer for tub plants once a month. Pruning is usually not necessary. During Winter: Kept in a tub, your Lover’s Tree should be placed in a bright spot in the house with a temperature between 8° and 15° Celsius. If it casts the leaves completely, it can hibernate in a darker place as well. Give water only sparingly. Outdoor plants should be good prepared for their first wintertime, after that the tree will become frost-resistant.
