Step 1: Remove the red cap on the end of the probe and turn on the tester.Step 2: Stick the probe 3-5 inches into the soil Step 3: Adjust the position of the probe until the tester is fixed in the soil to be tested. Step 4: Read the moisture/pH/light level/temperature data from the dial for about 10 seconds. Push the switch on the back to the pH or C position as needed. Step 5: Remove the probe from the soil and wipe it clean after each use. Note: Do not put items in liquids for testing. Be careful not to block the light sensor on top of the meter when measuring light. If the soil is too dry to get the pH, pour some water in after 30 minutes and test again.
