SparkFun Current Sensor Breakout ACS723 5A AC/DC Current Sensing Board 400mV/A Sensitivity Isolated

The SparkFun Current Sensor Board is a high-precision circuit board that uses the ACS723 chip for medium-range AC and DC current sensing applications. The ACS723 sensor uses a Hall effect sensor to output a voltage corresponding to the current flowing through the IP+ and IP- pins on the board. One advantage of using a Hall effect sensor is that the sensed circuit and the circuit reading the sensor signal are electrically isolated, meaning that even if your Arduino is running at 5V, the sensed circuit can operate at higher DC or AC voltages. The SparkFun Current Sensor Expansion Board can simultaneously measure DC and AC currents up to 5A. Although the analog output is adjustable up to 80kHz, the ACS723 sensor expansion board's wideband filter setting is tuned to 20kHz to reduce noise during high-gain use. The sensor's actual full 80kHz wideband can be recovered by closing the JP1 (band selection) jumper cap on the back of the board.
