The bark of the tree, grown in the USA and Canada, is steam distilled to release fresh wood essential oil. The cedar tree has been used for many years, with Native Americans stripping the bark from the trunk to make many items, from household items to totem poles, and modern manufacturers using it to create custom furniture. In the practice of aromatherapy, Cedarwood Virginian is used in massage blends to improve circulation, relieve muscle aches and flush toxins from the body. It also has a natural antibacterial and disinfecting effect and is often used in preparations for oily or problematic skin. Like Cedarwood Atlas, this oil can also be used by steam inhalation or diffuser as a decongestant when suffering from cold and flu symptoms. COMPOSITION:100% Juniperus virginiana wood oil (cedarwood)HOW TO USE:In a vaporizer: add 6 to 8 drops of essential oil to a vaporizer or burner. Inhalation: Add 3 to 5 drops of essential oil to a bowl of very hot water, inhale the vapors for 5 to 10 minutes. (Inhalation only for children over 10 years of age.) For massage: dilute 5 drops of essential oil with 10 ml of a carrier oil, such as almond or jojoba oil. Bath: Add 4 to 6 drops of essential oil per 20 ml of carrier oil.
