Green sticks are the source of valuable spirulina, which together with fibre regulates digestion. Red sticks are the source of animal protein and astaxanthin, which intensifies coloration. Active substances from spirulina, a natural immune stimulator – beta-glucan – and stabilised vitamin C increase fish's resistance to diseases.
