NOTE: Due to different production batches, there may be slight color variations, which do not affect performance. How do J-Tools work? Tool Insertion: J-Tools feature a unique "J" shaped end. This end is inserted into the keyway of the deadbolt. The long arm of the "J" shaped tool goes into the keyway while the short arm remains outside. THUMB SWIVEL ENGAGEMENT: Once the J-tool is inserted, the long arm engages the thumb swivel on the inside of the door. The thumbturn is the rotating component of the door lock that operates the deadbolt. OPERATION: After proper engagement, turn the tool to mimic the action of turning the thumbturn from the inside. This retracts the deadbolt, allowing the door to open. OPENING THE DOOR: With the deadbolt retracted, the door can be opened from the outside to gain access.
